Porcelain Crown Services

Our goal at Marietta Smile Gallery is to provide our patients with the best treatment options. Our crowns are metal free. Porcelain crowns can provide our patients with optimal care by conserving tooth structure and providing the patient by replicating the natural feel and contours of a real tooth. In the past, crowns were made with a metal substructure. Those crowns would sometimes show a black line around the patient's gum and over time it would become very unattractive; however, with the technological advances of the last 20 years, we can now provide our patients with metal free crowns.

What is a Porcelain Bridge?

A porcelain bridge is an option for replacing a missing tooth. It is permanently joined onto the neighboring abutment teeth (crowned teeth) and consists of three basic units: the false tooth or teeth (called a pontic) and two abutment crowns. At Marietta Smile Gallery we want the best treatment for you and we take in producing bridges that look great, natural and are highly functional.

If you have lost a tooth or teeth you may be a candidate for a bridge. Your other options are dental implant replacements or removable partial dentures. When you schedule a consultation with Marietta Smile Gallery we will review each of these options with you and come to a conclusion as to which treatment is best for you.

Preventing Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease can range from mild inflammation of the gingival tissues to periodontitis. Periodontitis is the leading cause of adult tooth loss in the United States. There are direct links between periodontitis and heart disease, stroke, diabetes, as well as other ailments throughout the body. Poor oral hygiene is one of the major causes of periodontitis. Brushing twice a day, flossing, professional check-ups and cleanings are essential to maintaining the best oral health. When these practices are not followed, plaque can form on the teeth and along the gumline. If this plaque is not properly removed, it may harden over time and become tartar. Once that occurs, only a dental professional can remove the tartar from teeth. The accumulation of tarter then causes periodontitis.

Tooth Colored Fillings

At Marietta Smile Gallery, we only use tooth-colored fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are composite resins, which are not made of metal. Because they are not made metal we can perfectly match our fillings to the shade of your teeth. If you have areas of decay we'd remove those areas and restore them with beautifully placed tooth-colored fillings. If you have older silver metal fillings, those may also need to be replaced also. During your initial consultation, we will assess your needs and take into consideration your concerns.

Healed Injured Pulp

A root canal is a procedure used to treat a tooth with an injured pulp. Injury to the pulp may occur due to a deep cavity or a deep filling. During the root canal procedure, the nerve of the tooth is removed and biocompatible material is placed where the nerve tissue was. The area is then sealed off and prepared to be restored with a crown or as a part of a bridge. If you're experiencing tooth pain, call us today so that we can be proactive in alleviating your discomfort.
